Overall Ranking: 3/10

What Is Silk Road Effect

Silk Road Effect claims that it has compiled ancient secrets into a powerful system, which is capable of generating millions of dollars.

And that secret has something to do with the Silk Road.

What started hundreds of centuries ago, has now developed into a global phenomenon. It allows any regular Joes to make quick bucks, all by capitalizing on the relationship with far eastern merchants.

This system that we are talking about, it enables you to sell a product 10 times the amount you paid for. What’s more, you can even sell products that you didn’t pay for, or even see it before, for hundreds of dollars.

This whole sales pitch sounds like a riddle to me.

Have you managed to guess what are they selling here?

How Does Silk Road Effect Works

Turns up, that secret that Silk Road Effect talking about is actually e-commerce, as well as dropshipping.

Only that e-commerce is by no means a secret. It requires hard work and dedication, contrary to what the sales pitch led you to believe.

Now let’s take a look at what kind of training provided by Silk Road Effect.

The whole training consists of 4 pdf files and 10 video training. The content in video training are pretty much similar to the pdf training, with an additional on-screen step-by-step guide that teaches you how to set up your stores/accounts

All the yellow tabs are basically redundant, clicking on it will not lead you to anywhere. That makes us wonder – why are they there in the first place?!

Red buttons, on the other hand, will lead you to download the training files.

Pdf training:

1. Silk Road Cheat Sheet (3 pages)

2. Silk Road Effect (48 pages)

3. Silk Road Mindmap (1 page)

4. Silk Road Resource Sheet (6 pages)

The main training is presented in the Silk Road Effect pdf, and the rest of the pdf files are just summarising the key points or reiterating the important factors mentioned in the Silk Road Effect pdf.

Video Training

The video training will bring you through the basic steps of creating your own online store, and highlighting some key areas to pay attention to when starting up your online business.

The training does provide an overview of e-commerce with some fresh ideas. However, none of the topics seems to go deep enough for it to be truly useful.

Silk Road Effect Funnel Revealed

There are in total 2 upsells offered by Silk Road Effect:

Upsell 1 – Silk Road Delux ($197 downsell to $97)

Here you get to learn the loophole to make up to $5000 from a single website.

Upsell 2 – Marco Polo Secret ($197)

A secret hack for you to earn up to $500,000 in 30 days.

By now, you should have realized that all the claims are purely hypes, nothing in the upsells is going to get you the result depicted in the sales pitch.

What I Like About Silk Road Effect

Silk Road Effect is retailed in ClickBank, and it is covered by the ClickBank 60 day-money-back-guarantee. However, do remember that refund policy is only applicable to front-end product and not the upsells.

What I Don’t Like About Silk Road Effect

1. Unrealistic Income Claim

Turn $10 to $100, make $34,000 per month, buy new cars, wear expensive clothes… Hypes and claims like these are all over the sales pitch.

Although dropshipping is a legitimate business, claims to make such an outrageous amount is unrealistic. Ask anyone who had done dropshipping and they will tell you the same. Of course, there are always outliers in any industry, but a training of such calibre will be at a totally different price tag.

2. Mysterious Founder

Throughout the sales pitch, the founder remains anonymous.

Is he managing a successful e-commerce business himself? Is he an authority in the e-commerce industry? There is no way for us to find out.

So how do we trust that this guy really knows what he is teaching?

3. Where To Find Your Traffic?

Can you believe that out of the 48 pages of the pdf file, only 4 pages dedicated to traffic generation?

Traffic is the bloodline of any online business. Having only 4 pages allocated for an important topic like this is such a joke!

It goes on talking about SEO and content marketing, setting up of an authoritative blog relevant to your e-commerce industry. This strategy helps you to foster a trusting relationship with your audience, with the hope that they will eventually take up your recommendation and purchase items from your site.

While those are good tactics, they are also time-consuming. SEO doesn’t make your blog famous overnight, it takes months of hard work to get it ranks well. In fact, this is the core strategy if you are doing affiliate marketing.

As for e-commerce, paid ads usually plays a much more important role, but guess what? There is only half a page set aside for PPC with Google Ads.

What about Facebook Ads?

Nope, they are not covered in the training! Not to mention any groundbreaking game plan to help you to succeed in your paid ads campaign. What could have been a whole training on its own being shrunk into half a page content?

Seriously, how detailed do you think it can be?

4. Where To Find Winning Product?

The training touches on some ‘very’ generic ideas about where to find suitable products to sell.

Again, finding a product is different from finding a WINNING product!

E-commerce is all about differentiation, getting into a trend while it is rising. This training does not give you the edge over your competitors for that matter.

5. Lack Of Visual Illustration

The advantage of having video training is that it helps the audience to visualize the process of getting things done.

Too bad, the video training here are mostly slideshow, with key points that summarise the pdf file itself.

Don’t get me wrong, there are some step-by-step guides, but just too little in my opinion.

Is Silk Road Effect A Scam?

No Silk Road Effect is not a scam, but it is not a training that I will recommend to you.

It kind of put you neither here nor there. You will have a better understanding of e-commerce but without much hands-on knowledge on how to execute your plan.
