Neora is a direct selling company specialising in age-fighting skincare and wellness products. It is based out of Addison Texas in the USA.
It all started in 2011 when the company was founded by Jeff Olson with a corporate staff of 13. Back then, they were known as Nerium.
At first, the company was built upon one product — Age-Defying Night Cream
Over the years, not only they have expanded to different products in the skincare industry, they are also the recipients of multiple awards and achieved $400M in annual revenue in 2014.
In Feb 2019, an announcement was made to change their name from Nerium to Neora. The official reason provided was that they are no longer focused on Nerium as an ingredient in its flagship product.
Supposedly, the name Nerium comes from Nerium oleandrin extract, which used to be the main ingredient in its flagship product.
Rumor is that Neora was launched because Nerium as an ingredient has fallen out of favor, due to a trial between Nerium Skincare (which supplying nerium oleandrin extract to the Nerium International) and Nerium International. Since Nerium is no longer in use, it made no sense for them to brand the company on an ingredient that is no longer present in the products – thus the rebranding.

The Neora Compensation Plan
Neora has quite a complex compensation plan, with many types of bonuses and tiers of commissions. If looking through a compensation plan like this make your head spin, there are businesses with straightforward compensation such as Wealthy Affiliate. They can help you make passive income and get paid in an easy to understand and transparent manner.
Neora operates on a unilevel compensation plan – the first level being your direct recruit, the second level being those that were recruited by your direct recruit, the third level being those your level 2 people recruited and so on.
Compensation For Selling Products
To be eligible to earn income in the Neora Compensation Plan, you need to remain Active by fulfilling certain criteria every month:
• Maintaining 120-400 in PQV (varies depending on rank) in product sales to personal customers
OR
• Maintaining 80-150 PQV (varies depending on rank) in personal product ADV
Simply put, in order to get your commission, you have to purchase products for yourself if you couldn’t meet the minimum sales required.
Personal Qualifying Volume (PQV) – sales to Preferred Customers and Retail Customers and purchases made for your personal use and sales inventory needs.
Auto-Delivery Volume (ADV) – volume generated by the sale of the product through the AutoDelivery Order program.
1. Retail Commissions
Sell Neora products and earn the difference between the price paid by the customer and the Brand Partner one-time price.
2. Personal Sales Commissions
Personal Sales Commissions is an additional commission paid on monthly retail sales volume if you manage to hit a minimum of $300 sales per month.
3. First Order Bonus
For each new enrolled Preferred Customer who purchases productS on their enrolment order, you will earn a 20% First Order Bonus.
4. Personal Preferred Customer (PC) Bonus
Neora Brand Partners receive bonuses based on how many preferred customer sales they generate and maintain.
5. Team Preferred Customer (PC) Bonus
Neora Brand Partners receive this bonus when their direct referrals qualify for Preferred Customer Bonuses. There are in total of 4 levels of team bonus:
Depending on how many people you recruit, and how successful they are, you have the potential to earn up to $2,500 in a monthly period from the Team PC Bonus in addition to the PC bonuses.
Compensation For Team Building
For each of your recruited Brand Partners who purchase a qualifying 500 QV or more enrolment pack, you will earn a First Order Bonus based on the subtotal of that enrolment order.
And if you are of National Marketing Director or higher, you will receive an additional 10% First Order Bonus. Otherwise, the additional 10% will go to your upline.
Once you completed a set of 5 first-orders from your direct recruit Brand Partner within a rolling 12 months. The Power-5 Bonus rewards you with a 5% bonus. These are paid based on the sale of packs with 500 QV or 750 QV.
Now let’s take a look at the residual income you can get from your team:
The residual commissions follow a unilevel compensation structure (a unilevel compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, with every personally recruited affiliate placed directly under them).
An additional 3% Momentum Bonus in addition to Team Commissions is paid out in the first three full months after you advance in rank.
On top of that, there are also Lifestyle Bonus and Luxury Car Bonus if you manage to achieve certain ranks within a period of time.
Rewards For Leadership
1. Check Match Bonus
Check Match Bonus is for Elite Director and higher ranked Brand Partners. It is paid on residual commissions earned by Team Director and higher ranked downline affiliates.
2. The Infinity Bonus rewards
Silver National Marketing Director and higher ranked Brand Partners get a cut on downline sales volume.
3. NMD Generation Bonus
For those who are of Platinum National Marketing Director rank, you will be eligible to earn the National Marketing Director (NMD) Generations Bonus. The bonus pays on Commissionable Volume (CV) from NMD generations.

What I Like About Neora
Neora has a good line of products and they do have their unique selling point. You can get started at $49 – a relatively good entry price point.
What I Don’t Like About Neora
1. Bad Reputation
Neora used to hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). However, at the time of writing this article, it appears that the company’s accreditation has been revoked by BBB’s Board of Directors.
To make matter worse, the FTC announced a lawsuit against Neora (formerly known as Nerium), alleging that the company operates as an illegal pyramid scheme and falsely promises recruits they will achieve financial independence if they join the scheme.
The lawsuit also alleges that defendants deceptively promote “EHT” supplements as an antidote to concussions and chronic traumatic encephalopathy caused by repetitive brain trauma, as well as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. The FTC is seeking to permanently stop the defendants’ deceptive practices and return money to consumers.
2. No Official Income Statement
Income Statement shows us the amount of money on average people earn with the company.
However, Income Statement of Neora is nowhere to be found, which is really weird. Most of the MLM companies make these figures available to the public.
3. Minimum Sales Requirement
As we have touched on earlier, there is a minimum monthly sales volume you have to meet, else you will have to fork out the money yourself and buy the products.
This goes to show that in order to make money with Neora, you have to keep on working, otherwise, you will lose the earnings of your current rank.
If passive income is what you are looking for, then this is probably not what you are hoping for.
It is easy to see how things can get complicated quickly – juggling between sales and management of your team. It is by no mean an easy task. Far too often, I have seen many people get involved in MLM thinking that they can just get a few recruits and then sit back collecting money – now we know that it is far from the truth!

Is Neora A Scam?
Although Neora is not a scam, it doesn’t have the best reputation either. Having involved in a lawsuit with FTC is definitely not a good sign.
For all those reasons stated above, I suggest you explore other options if you want an opportunity where you can build your income for the life that you want.
A Better Way To Make Money Online
In my honest opinion, the best reason for joining any MLM company is when you really love a product, and you want to get your cost covered while making extra money.
If making money is your only reason for joining, forget about it. Losing friends, wasting time and energy is not going to make it worth the money you make. And the worst part, you are still technically ’employed’, you build up nothing for yourself at all. If one day the company get busted, the downline that you have spent so much building will be gone in an instant too.
