My Unbiased Review For Wealthy Affiliate

What Is Microworkers

Founded by Nhatvi Nguyen in 2010, Microworkers is a crowdsourcing platform that connects companies (or clients) with online freelancers from around the world.

Microworkers appears to be a legitimate online platform, considering that it is easy to find payment proof online. That being said, the site’s reputation is kind of mixed.

Generally, the tasks offered are simple, can be done online, and only takes a few minutes to finish. There is not much technical skill required – hence the term microwork.

Literally anyone can sign up as a worker, but depending on the nature of the tasks, some may require you to be a resident of certain countries.

How Does Microworkers Work

Once you have created an account with Microworkers, you gain access to Task Link, which shows you a list of available jobs in a series of categories, time limit for you to complete each task and how much you will earn by completing it etc.

However, you can’t just take on any task yet. You have to take a short Admission Test which will access your command of English and to make sure you understand the basics on how the platform works.
Here are some job categories you can find on Microworkers:

> Transcription
> Comment/Like YouTube video
> Content comparison
> Like Facebook, Twitter Page
> Download android/iOS app
> Proof-reading
> Comment/Like YouTube video
> Ads monitoring tasks
> Web application testing
> Content evaluation
> Taking various kinds of surveys
> Research studies

There are no limitations on how many tasks you can perform. You can ‘lock-in’ as many jobs as possible. However, it is important for you to be able to complete it (and have it done properly) because when your success rate goes below 75%, you won’t able to submit for any new task for at least 30 days.

To maintain a good success rate, be sure that you only accept the tasks that you are confident in completing.

Cashing Out From Microworkers

Minimum cashing out amount from Microworkers is $10.

When you first sign up with Microworkers, you are awarded free $1, meaning that you will only need to earn another $9 before your first withdrawal. This is when most of the complaints come in – you will be sent a PIN via the post for your first withdrawal, which can take between 1-4 weeks to arrive. Once the PIN is received and you enter it, you will receive payment quickly.

There are various payment options to choose from – PayPal, Dwolla or Moneybookers. There is, however, a percentage fee charged for each withdrawal.

How Much Money Can You Make With Microworkers

The remuneration varies depending on the complexity or time taken of each job. Usually, it ranges from anything up to $5.

From what I see, the highest-earning members on the site can average around $200 per month, However, it isn’t likely you will get near to this when you begin as you will have to build a reputation.

Your reputation is displayed in the form of stars. The more satisfied your employer is with your performance, the more stars you will be awarded.

What I Like About Microworkers

1. Low Barrier Of Entry

Performing small jobs like this is a convenient way to earn some side income from home. You can do it anywhere, anytime.

It is free to join and doesn’t require any qualification or skills. As Long as you can understand basic English, with a little computer skill, you are good to go.

2. Various Payment Options Available

Some rewards site only allows you to earn points in exchange for gift, but Microworkers actually let you earn real money with various payment options – PayPal, Dwolla or Moneybookers.

You are also given $1 to your Microworkers account just for joining.

What I Don’t Like About Microworkers

1. Slow Payment

As I have mentioned earlier, the cash-out process can take weeks and not exactly pleasant. From what I have heard, some users couldn’t get their queries answered and left wondering if they can ever receive their pay. This just goes to show how poor the standard of their support system.

That’s not all, a fee is also charged for withdrawing your cash. So you are not getting the full payout that shown on their task list.

2. Lack Of Tasks

There are many complaints about the lack of available tasks. Although the $10 minimum withdrawal amount sounds rather reasonable, it can take a long time to achieve due to the scarcity of jobs offered on Microworkers.

To put it into perspective, it is said that there are only a few hundreds of tasks available in Microworkers at any point of time, as compared to hundred thousand of tasks on MTurk (another get-paid-to site).

3. Shady Nature Of Tasks

Will you like or share posts that you have no interest in? Will you spam websites and forums with hyperlinks or advertisement? Or will you make fake reviews or comments just for pennies? Some of the tasks request seems to be ethically questionable.

These are issues that plague Microworkers. The worst part is that some of those jobs look like an obvious scam that nobody with a conscience will perpetrate it on the innocent public.

I found a way to make more money with the same amount of time spent on Microworkers.

Is Microworkers A Scam?

No, Microworkers is not a scam. On the surface, it seems to be a convenient option for many groups of people: retiree, stay at home moms, students, people in between jobs, or just anyone who is looking for a side hustle.

But think about it! The amount you can earn will all depend upon the time you spend on it. Once you stop working, your income stop flowing in too. If you want to make a full-time passive income from home, Microworkers is not for you.

Spending time doing menial tasks like this, without building up anything for yourself – it is not worth it!

For that reason, I recommend you to see how me, and many other people below make a living online.

Hey thank you for the awesome review!  I’m glad to see that Microworkers is not exactly a scam!  At least they are not stealing people’s information and using it.  That being said, some of their more unethical tasks should be make one approach them with caution.  I don’t like the idea of spamming a website honestly.  That is terrible!

Indeed, Microworkers is a legitimate platform to work on and I much agree with you on that. But unfortunately, there are lots of complaints like limited jobs especially when you’re not located in the US.

I myself once worked on Microworkers, and what made me quit was the fact that I had to receive a one-time PIN before cashing out my earnings of which I did not after working for a very long time. I did not even bother contacting Support because it was of no use. You hardly get reply.

This is a kind of job where you must work before you earn. When you stop working, you stop earning. That’s why I like the fact that you pointed out making consistent earnings through affiliate marketing even while in your sleep, and that is exactly what I do. This is the best online business anyone can benefit from if they’re serious of making real money online.

Hi Grace, great article. I had never heard of Microworkers or any of the other job crowdsourcing sites until now.  It never ceases to amaze me just how quickly such sites can be set up on the Internet to take advantage of a captive audience. I see from Google that you can download a complete set of questions and answers for the Microworkers entrance exam so clearly they are not worried about ensuring that the people who sign up are capable of completing the tasks to any great standard.

Hello Grace. Thank you for sharing this review of Microworkers. This is my first time to know about this platform and it’s actually cool to know that it is legitimate. But I am not impressed at the delay before payments can be gotten when requested for. I have tried some surveys before. I think they’re not worth it and even this one too. Not that bad anyways if anybody choose to settle down with it.

Regards!
