Spending $250 and getting back $750, isn’t it sound too good to be true?
I get that it is a very tempting opportunity. However, this opportunity requires an upfront ‘donation’, and as much as they sugar coat their sales pitch to make it sound easy, your return is not guaranteed.
Anyone who wants to make money online need to be vigilant, it pays to do due diligence in finding out more information on any products or services before getting involved.
So I am glad that you are here, doing your own research is the first step of avoiding scam, and one step closer to the legitimate way of making money online.
Before continue, I just want to declare that I am not in any way associated with 50/50 Crowdfunding.
So I promise, no sales pitch here, only plain and brutal truth about 50/50 Crowdfunding.

What is 50/50 Crowdfunding About
Let’s start from the traditional crowdfunding.
Now you have a project in mind (or a cause, venture etc). You want to implement it but you do not have enough money to do that. So instead of borrowing money from friends, relatives, or bank, you create a fundraising campaign and getting donation from the general public, done via internet.
As for the 50/50 crowdfunding, you don’t need to have a real project in mind. Your duty is to first donate an amount of money, create a fundraising campaign (with whatever project / cause / venture as you wish to put it), and get people to join the system and donate their money like you did.
In short, your income is from the ‘donation’ of your referrals.
Difference Between Traditional Crowdfunding And 50/50 Crowdfunding
You have a real project / cause/ venture
Your motivation is to get people on board so that you can get the 50% donation from them
Reason for donation
People donate because they believe in the project / cause/ venture, without expecting any donation in return.
People donate with the intention of receiving donation.
People fund project that they are interested in
No one cares what project they donate to, they just do it as a pre-requisite to receive donation from their referrals.
There is no retailable products or services for sale here. In my opinion, it is like a musical chair game for money.
Can I Earn Money From It
Yes, as a matter of fact you can.
But I think the more appropriate question is :
Can I lose money with it?
And the answer is also yes.
As there is no real product or services for sale, a lot of people would think of it as a money game. In which, it is wise to join early and reap the profit before the steam run out on the game.
The concept of this scheme is not new, it is like a cash gifting scheme which had been around since 1990s. Of course, David Rosen will be very much disagree with it.
The founder of 50/50 Crowdfunding, David Rosen has a long history in the MLM world. His 2 recent companies are PIE 24/7 launched in 2015 and Cooperative Crowdfunding launched in early 2018.
How Does It Work
Here is what you need to do, they simplified it into a 3 steps guide below:
The 3 Steps Guide
1. Register and become an active donor
During the registration, you need to pay $29 every six month as licensing fee, plus additional ‘donation’ depending on which level you want to be in.
The licensing fee is meant for the platform, hosting, support and other services provided by the Team Crowdfunding to make your fundraising experience more rewarding.
2. Help 2 persons become active donor
3. They each help another 2 persons become donor
And that is what they called the ‘2 x 2 matrix’.
You help 2 and they help 2.
There is a total of 6 donations (excluding yours) to complete the matrix. In every matrix, you can earn 50% of every donation made within the matrix. So if you are donating $250, here you will receive $125 x 6 = $750 and the matrix is completed.
To put it in plain words, you will not earn beyond 2 levels of referrals. You will only receive a donation from your direct referral, and your direct referral’s referrals.
When that happens, a new matrix will reopen and the cycle will start all over again, without additional requirements or efforts.
However, if your referral donates a different amount of money from the level you are at, say, $500. Your income will still be at the $250 level, and the rest will go to the next qualified person above you.
You don’t just donate any random amount of money, there are 5 levels of donations as shown below:
- $250 level– donate $250 in and receive $750
- $500 level– donate $500 in and receive $1500
- $1000 level – donate $1000 in and receive $3000
- $2000 level– donate $2000 in and receive $6000
- $4000 level– donate $4000 in and receive $12,000
The donation received is immediately split 50-50 to the respective beneficiaries, there is no middle man hence no further deduction of donation. The dashboard always reflects an updated real-time donation for easy monitoring.
What I Like About 50/50 Crowdfunding
Frankly, I don’t like the idea of this scheme. But I believe it can attract many people who are just starting making money online because:
1. It is easy to start, with almost no learning period required.
2.There is no product to sell, so there is no need to spend time studying, using, or reviewing the product.
3. It is a hype, the thought of your money multiplying gets you excited and greed will do the rest.
4. You only need to refer 2 people to break even your donation (or 1 person, if that person refer another person), it makes the whole scheme sound easy to achieve (note that I mentioned ‘sound’ easy to achieve, because I don’t think it is as easy as it is painted to be).
What I Don’t Like About 50/50 Crowdfunding
As of the time of writing, this is a legit product. However, with its nature bearing a lot of similarities with that of a pyramid scheme, it is no surprise if it gets shut down in the near future.
Pyramid scheme relies on constant new recruitment. It is not sustainable in nature. Once the hypes have worn off and new donation stop coming in, the whole structure came tumbling down quickly. The entire income source can get wiped off in an instant.
Personally, I believe in building up a long-lasting online business rather than jumping from opportunities to opportunities. Yes, you might get some quick cash out of them, but they are usually short-lived. Once they collapse, you will need to start all over again. Perhaps, with even less in your pocket than you have started up with.
There is no short cut to earning online business. Sadly, many people took the rough path before coming to realise this fact.
Looking For Ways To Make Money Online With Peace Of Mind?
Even scammers are making money, right?
But do you want to be part of them?
Or would you rather help other people achieving their goals, while you making money out of it?
That is called affiliate marketing. You help people getting the products or services that they are looking for, and in return, you earn a commission from it. The best part of this is that you get to promote the products that you actually love, and you know that your work actually helping someone rather than luring someone into a scheme just so that they can give you their money.
This is the exact same product that I have been using to build up my online business.
